The Gold Coast Suns will be without skipper Touk Miller for the upcoming pre-season matches as he battles a “mild” hamstring injury.

Miller sustained the injury during a match simulation session last week.

However, the club is confident their star will be on deck for the opening match of the season at home against the Sydney Swans on March 18.

“Touk felt some discomfort in his hamstring on Friday and on assessment, has a mild hamstring injury,” Gold Coast Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said.

“Touk will reintegrate into full training over the next couple of weeks leading into the start of the season.”

Brandon Ellis will also be missing from the side’s trial games because of a calf complaint but its expected he will also be right for round one.

The club has also revealed Wil Powell is building his chances of selection in round one after suffering a hamstring injury.
