The Gold Coast is on storm watch with the possibility the city could see some severe storm action today.
A trough and associated southerly change that’s lingering over the southeast will strengthen today as an upper trough crosses the southeast.
That’s tipped to lead to widespread storm action throughout Tuesday afternoon.
While forecasts believe areas north of Brisbane will likely cop the brunt of any severe storm activity, there is the chance of cells hitting the Gold Coast.
The Bureau is predicting a very high chance of showers from Tuesday afternoon with the possibility of storms to follow.
Between 6 and 30mm of rain is forecast to fall on the Gold Coast.
A hazardous surf warning remains in place for Gold Coast beaches but conditions continue to ease.
