A man has been charged with the murder of a 19-year-old woman in Ipswich after police launched an investigation into her suspicious death.
Krystle Monks suffered critical injuries at a Bundamna home on February 4, with emergency services called to reports she had collapsed.
She was transported in a critical condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she died on the evening of February 5.
Detectives from Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch and the Homicide Investigation Unit declared the address a crime scene and launched Operation Victor Fluorite to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
As a result of investigations, detectives this morning arrested a 21-year-old Dinmore man at a Richlands address.
It will be alleged he is known to Ms Monks.
He has been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence).
He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow (February 11).
Investigations remain ongoing and detectives appeal to those known to the 19-year-old woman, who may have information that could assist investigations, to come forward.
