A man has been charged after a woman was critically injured after she allegedly fell from a car in Sydney’s west.

Emergency crews were called to Peppin Crescent in Airds around 3.30pm on Thursday, following reports of a serious incident.

Upon arrival, they found a 40-year-old woman suffering critical injuries.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital.

A crime scene has been established, with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident now underway.

Police are probing reports the woman had fallen from the bonnet of a vehicle.

The driver of the car, a 43-year-old man who is known to the woman, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing before being taking to Campbelltown Police Station.

The man was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous.

He was refused bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court today.
