Brace yourselves for a new skyline in Southport!
CSI Club Southport has just unveiled a brand-new mural on the side of their building on Scarborough street, which pays colourful homage to the city’s heritage and coastal beauty.
The hand-painted mural is an addition to the suburb’s other 25 street pieces scattered throughout the CBD and marks the beginning of stage one of a multi-million dollar renovation, which is now in full swing.
CSI Club Southport general manager Blair Sleeman said the artwork– which features elements of the iconic Broadwater skyline, coastal banksia, and historic and contemporary architecture, is expected to catch the eyes of locals and tourists.
“We support and are proud of the local community, so when it came to deciding what we would design it was an easy decision because it needed to reflect all things Southport,” Mr Sleeman said.
“From its Broadwater skyline, coastal banksia, buildings from both old and new, down to the Ibis and historical train silhouette as a nod to the past– the mural has a vintage postcard vibe, with the creative coming from Tillman Creative.Co.
“We have ended up with what will become an iconic landmark piece for present and future Southport residents and visitors,” he said.
But don’t just take their word for it, watch the time-lapse of the making of the mural below, or come and see it for yourself!
