Crime scene declared at Southport unit block after man stabbed

Investigations are underway after a man was allegedly stabbed at an apartment complex in Southport early this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the property on Barney Street around 4.15am.

Upon arrival, they found a man suffering multiple stab wounds to his back.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC he was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been declared in an underground car park at the complex, with a vehicle also seized.

At this stage, no formal complaints have been made.
