A woman and two young children have been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car at a pedestrian crossing on Bribie Island.

It’s understood the car was being driven by a 95-year-old man along Goodwin Drive just before 12pm.

A female toddler suffered multiple abrasions, while a male baby boy suffered a head injury.

Both have been transported to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition with a high acuity response paramedic on board for transport.

A woman in her 30s suffered multiple abrasions and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.

Queensland Ambulance Service Officer in Charge Jarred Thorne says they had a large response to the scene.

“We had eight units respond, three acute ambulances, critical care, high acuity response unit, and an operational supervisor and myself.”

The driver of the vehicle was transported to Caboolture Hospital in a stable condition as a precaution.

The area has been closed by police, with motorists being asked to avoid the area.
