Energex crews are urgently working to determine the cause of a mass power outage that’s blacked out more than 1400 homes and businesses across the Gold Coast.
The outage struck around 8.00am on Friday.
Merrimac appears to be the most affected suburb, with more than 1200 properties without power.
Hundreds of homes in Mudgeeraba and Worongary have also been impacted.
Danny Donald from Energex has told myGC the cause of the outage remains a mystery.
“Our crews are there on scene and doing a bit of patrolling as well, we’re just trying to find out exactly what is going on,” Mr Donald said.
“If anyone has seen anything, seen a low-hanging wire or heard a loud bang, they can always give us a call which always helps us find the fault quicker on 13 19 62”.
