Unmarked police car in nasty two-vehicle Gold Coast smash

An unmarked police car has been involved in a nasty two-vehicle collision in Burleigh Heads in the early hours of this morning.

Police investigations are continuing to establish whether drink-driving may be a contributing factor, after the two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Bermuda Street and Reedy Creek Road.

It happened around 3am, with the impact taking out a set of traffic lights.

Two male officers have been hospitalised as a precaution, while the male civilian driver has also been hospitalised with minor injuries.

Paramedics transported the three men to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.

Investigations continue.
