Three people have managed to escape serious injury following a unit fire in Southport this afternoon.
The blaze broke out at a top-level unit along Johnston Street just before 1pm.
The small fire is believed to have erupted on the balcony.
Three people, who were inside at the time, are currently being assessed for injuries.
A QAS spokesperson says two patients are suffering smoke inhalation.
The fire has been put out, with two fire crews currently on scene.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
