Update @ 3.15pm: Queensland Police have confirmed a lockdown at two Gold Coast schools has now been lifted.

Students at Pacific Pines State High and Arundel State School have been given the all-clear.

The incident was sparked after police were notified of a potential threat linked to a family-related disturbance.

Students have now been allowed to leave the school grounds to go home.

Earlier at 2.45pm: Two schools on the Gold Coast have been placed in lockdown with students forced to remain inside.

A family-related disturbance sparked a lockdown at Pacific Pines State High just before 2pm today.

The incident has also forced students at Arundel State School into lockdown.

A Queensland Police Spokesperson confirmed they were notified of an alleged potential threat but at this stage, the threat has not been substantiated.

Police are currently on the scene of Pacific Pines State High with officers going through the school grounds.

It’s understood lockdown sirens have been heard on and off at the school grounds.
