Labor remains on track to win next month’s federal election with the Coalition struggling to make a dent in the opposition’s lead.
The latest Newspoll shows primary support has increased for both parties with Labor up one point to 37 per cent while the Coalition is also up one to 36 per cent.
But after preferences Labor maintains its 53-47 two-party-preferred lead.
In some positive news for the Coalition, Scott Morrison has extended his lead over Anthony Albanese as preferred Prime Minister.
It comes after the opposition leader was forced into isolation late last week after contracting COVID-19.
Mr Morrison’s support is up two points to 46 per cent while Mr Albanese is unchanged on 37 per cent.
Primary support for the Greens is down one point to 11 per cent while One Nation is also down one point to three per cent.
Support for the United Australia Party is unchanged at four per cent along with independents and other minor parties on nine per cent.
