Man suffers burns after fire breaks out at Helensvale home

A man has been hospitalised after a fire broke out at a home in Helensvale overnight.

Emergency crews were called to a property along Tranquillity Circuit just before 7.30pm following reports of a blaze.

The fire is believed to have started in a patio roof, but firies were able to quickly bring the flames under control.

A man, aged in his 30s, suffered superficial burns to his chest, abdomen, and arm.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
