UPDATE | Police have released CCTV footage of a frightening robbery at a convenience store in Burleigh Waters.
A stolen blue BMW M235I was used to reverse through the glass doors of a convenience store on Bermuda St and Christine Street around 4.40am on Monday morning.
The doors were destroyed in the incident before a man wearing a white face covering gets out of the driver seat.
He is seen threatening a 64-year-old worker who was preparing the store for opening.
The male then jumps the counter and steals a stash of cigarettes before getting back into the BMW and fleeing.
The same car was used to carry out an identical robbery on a convenience store in the Brisbane suburb of Ashgrove about two hours earlier.
The vehicle, with rego 252 AR8, had been stolen from St Lucia sometime on Sunday night.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the robberies or anyone who may have spotted the stolen car to contact them.

The 64-year-old manager was getting the store ready for opening when the terrifying break-in occurred around 4.40am.
Police said a stolen vehicle was reversed into the front doors of the Bermuda Street intersection with Christine Street store causing “substantial damage to the doors”.
The thieves then threatened the manager before stealing a stash of cigarettes and fleeing the scene in a stolen car, which had been nabbed from St Lucia in Brisbane overnight.
The vehicle, a Blue 2020 M235I BWW sedan bearing rego 252 AR8, was also used in a similar break and enter at a convenience store at Ashgrove in the early hours of this morning.
Anyone with information is being urged to come forward.
