It’s all happening in Hollywood this morning, with the highly anticipated 94th Academy Awards getting underway.

Ten Australians are nominated for gongs, including two for cinematography.

Ari Wegner is up for Power of the Dog and if she wins, she will become the first-ever female to claim victory in the category.

The 37-year-old from Melbourne is up against fellow Aussie Greig Fraser for his work on the sci fi epic Dune.

Nicole Kidman is nominated for Best Actress for her role as Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardoes, while Kody Smitt-McPhee is up for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Power of the Dog.

The awards are taking place at the glitzy Dolby Theatre, with the ceremony set to get underway at 10am AEST time.

Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall are hosting the ceremony.
