Cricket legend Shane Warne’s body is now safely back on home soil as preparations for his funeral continue.

A massive memorial is being staged at the MCG for Wednesday March 30, with some big celebrity names set to attend.

The latest international star who’s expressed interest in being involved in the memorial is Chris Martin, lead singer of Cold Play.

According to NewsCorp, Warnie’s friend for over two decades is wanting to have a part of the service, even though he’s currently on tour in Mexico.

There are reports it could be as simple as a video message or a live video link.

In the lead up to the memorial, fans of Shane Warne are being asked to make a donation to Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health in Warne’s memory.

With a massive capacity to fill at the MCG, it’s understood that up to 50,000 tickets to the memorial will be made free.
