Motorists are being urged to avoid the M1 this afternoon after an accident at Gaven.
The smash has happened on the approach to Exit 66.
Police have advised that northbound lanes have been temporarily closed.
Northbound delays stretch back to Mudgeeraba while southbound traffic is also being impacted with delays back to Arundel.
A traffic crash in the vicinity of Exit 66 on the Pacific Motorway at Gaven has temporarily seen the closure of all northbound lanes.

There were also reports of a broken down car on the Nerang River Bridge adding further delays.
The drama is on top of the usual congestion being experienced between Currumbin and Reedy Creek.
