The death toll from the unfolding flooding emergency across the southeast has risen again this morning.
A 34-year-old man has died after his car became submerged in floodwaters at Indooroopilly around 2.30am.
According to police, the man managed to free himself from his vehicle along Witton Road and attempted to swim to safety.
However, nearby residents raised the alarm when he failed to surface from the water.
Sadly, emergency services located the body of the Moorooka man a short time later.
It takes the death toll from the recent weather crisis to six, including much-loved SES volunteer Merryl Dray.
A search is also continuing this morning for a missing yachtsman in the Brisbane River.
The man, aged in his seventies, fell overboard from his vessel near the mouth of Breakfast Creek around 4.45pm on Saturday.
