The Gold Coast Titans have an official home band locked in for the 2022 season thanks to ‘Big K’s Titans’ Gameday Gig’ on 1029 Hot Tomato.
Local legends Perry Street Park won the once in a lifetime opportunity to perform at CBus Stadium at every home game this year.
They beat out four other finalists; Hinterland, McKenzie Band, Vallies and The Point 0 Five to bring the energy to Titans fans both pre-game and at half time.
Titans coach Justin Holbrook joined Hot Tomato’s Big K on Friday night to announce the winner, in a competition that really came down to the wire.
“It’s really exciting were looking forward to the season this year but to have a live band playing at all our home games is great for the players and for all of the fans who turn out.”
“And the winner is… Perry Street Park,” Holbrook announced on 1029 Hot Tomato on Friday night.
Perry Street Park stem from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Toowoomba and describe themselves as the new ‘pop-rock cure’ who cultivated a sound ready to define the next era of Australian Rock.
They draw inspiration from artists such as Sam Fender, Gang Of Youths, INXS and Crowded House.
They told Justin Holbrook and Big K that this opportunity is ‘insane’.
“Far out!”
That’s fantastic! Thanks so much, were just so excited thanks for this opportunity!”
Big Kahuna from Hot Tomato’s Fat Nights show championed the search over the last few weeks, monitoring entries and interviewing finalists to help decide who’d get the gig.
“I was amazed at the response from all the exciting live bands on the Gold Coast, such an awesome city to live in with so much fantastic live entertainment and great footy!” said Big K.
Titans General Manager Business Operations Scott Rollinson says the final decision was really tough, but they’re confident that Perry Street Park is the perfect fit.
“When you go to a Gold Coast Titans event, we want you walking out of Cbus Super Stadium feeling like you’ve had a full entertainment experience.
“We want to be known as the club with the most energy of any sporting team in the country.
“Thanks to Hot Tomato and the great bands from across the Coast that have applied, we’re confident that we’re going to add plenty to our show this year.
“Perry Street Park will help drive the atmosphere, revving up the crowd and making plenty of noise to help the Titans to victory,” Mr Rollinson told myGC.
If you want to catch Perry Street Park at CBus Stadium, their first home day gig is at CBus Stadium on Saturday March 19. Get tickets here.
